WHEN Parakala Prabhakar published his essays in April last year in a book titled The Crooked Timber of New India: Essays on a Republic in Crisis, one ignored it on suspicion that as husband of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman he could not but be deviously trying to massage the anti-democratic image of the government his wife worked for.
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, a well-known journalist and writer, has made a music video called “Saheb” in Hindi. “With the nation’s political climate heating up and the Lok Sabha elections round the corner, we bring you a musical take on our Prime Minister,” read the description of music video.
The song has beautiful singing by Aditi, lyrics by Rajesh Nirmal, and music by Vedi Sinha and Amartya Ghosh.

One of the Adani Group's biggest, most expensive and most controversial projects is its plan to create a coal-to-PVC plant in north-west India. The proposal is to turn coal into polyvinyl chloride, a commonly used plastic.
