Mamata Banerjee is very smart and clever with a Ph.D in Kautilya's politics, even if she is not a good politician. Over the last 15 years, there has been no industrialisation in West Bengal and there has been no improvement in economic conditions in the state. The special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter roll in the state should be done in a proper manner. These are some of the comments and observations made by Dr Ashok Lahiri, former professor of economics, psephologist and Member of the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal, belonging to the Bharatiya Janta Party, in an exclusive interview with Paranjoy Guha Thakurta.
