The deletion of names through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter roll in West Bengal, the anti-incumbency sentiments against the 15-year-old Trinamool Congress government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and possible division of votes, have all ensured that the electoral battle in the state would be a close contest.
