Donation Theft: Lawyers in Hot Pursuit of Kingpins

Lawyers in Faizabad/Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, India, are pursuing the top bosses of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust over a massive scandal relating to theft of donations to the Ram Temple. While police had arrested eight junior employees, the main leaders of the trust at the time haven't been uncharged. Kaliyug Media spoke with Ayodhya Bar Association President Advocate Kalika Mishra and Advocate Saurabh Mishra. They argue that the defence of the trust leadership that they were ignorant and unaware of the theft may not hold in a court of law. What you will find in this video: The role of General Secretary Champat Rai as the sole decision-maker for the administration, policy, and staffing the Ram Janmabhoomi Trsut. How relatives and personal servants, including Champat Rai's servant Tinnu Yadav, gained control of 40 donation boxes without background checks and the absence of selection criteria in appointing persons to supervise donations to the trust and account for these. That there are major flaws in the police investigation, including the fact that the time of arrest of, and recovery of donations from, seven suspects were identical, suggesting attempts to stage and rig the criminal case. Several questions are being raised about the acquisition of commercial properties like hotels, buildings and other assets acquired by key figures allegedly involved in the scandal. Protests continue as opposition political parties demand accountability from the Union government and the state government of Uttar Pradesh over the missing donations.
