BJP Gets a Pass on Hate Speech, Courtesy Facebook?

Recently, The Wall Street Journal released a report claiming that Facebook India refused to apply its own rules regarding hate speech to those associated with the BJP at the instructions of its senior executive. The report once again raised questions about Facebook rigor in implementing these rules, as well as the extent of its interference in politics in India.. Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, senior journalist and co-author of the book 'The Real Face of Facebook in India' explains Facebook's record on this across the world, its economic interests and the extent to which its tools are being utilised and weaponised by the BJP.
