The political winds from the east and the south are affecting the climate in New Delhi. While it is too early to say whether a coalition of regional parties and the Congress will be able to form an alliance to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party led by Narendra Modi, there is no doubt that the outcome of the recent assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala has posed the biggest challenge to the ruling dispensation in the last seven years, says political scientist Professor Sandeep Shastri, Vice Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal and the national coordinator of the Lokniti network of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi.
