WhatsApp Exploiting Absence of Privacy Law in India

The extension of the deadline for enforcing the new privacy guidelines for those who use WhatsApp for business purposes, has been facilitated by the absence of any law in India that protects the privacy of users. The decision to share metadata of WhatsApp users with the parent company Facebook has been challenged in courts, points out Mishi Choudhary, legal director, Software Freedom Law Centre in an exclusive interview with NewsClick.
