Uttar Pradesh Elections: 'Development Will Be The Issue, Not Religion'

The attempts made by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh to polarise voters along communal lines, are aimed at covering up failures on the development front. Still, issues such as unemployment, inflation, the agricultural crisis, poor health-care facilities and the problems created by stray cattle, are likely to matter more in the forthcoming assembly elections, argues senior journalist Vineet Narain in an interview with NewsClick.
