It’s an Ideological Battle to Prevent Privatisation of the Cooperative Sector

In the name of checking corruption, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is seeking to amend the Act that governs the National Dairy Development Boards that also runs Mother Diary. The proposed amendments to the act would lead to privatisation through the backdoor and destroy the character of this cooperative organisation, says Manu Kaushik who used to work with the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation that markets Amul products, in an interview to NewsClick.
