The central government has proposed the Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023. Under this, certain regulations will be formulated for OTT platforms, online media, etc. What is the real reason behind these regulations, and what will be their consequences? Senior journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta speaks with lawyer and public policy professional Apar Gupta. Gupta says that these regulations are being brought not for the welfare of the people but for the benefit of the government.
