The incident of the rape of a young woman doctor at R G Kar Medical College, the scandal relating to the appointment of teachers, and the Sandeshkhali episode are isolated instances of breakdown of law and order and corruption in West Bengal. These will not affect the popularity of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, says Saugata Roy, Member of the Lok Sabha from Dum Dum, belonging to the Trinamool Congress.
