Is India Still A Democracy?

A wide range of questions and observations on the role of the Supreme Court and the Election Commission, on who is a citizen and the future of democracy in India, were raised during the question-answer round at the end of the first session of the conclave on One Nation, One Election, Federalism and Citizenship organised by the Constitutional Conduct Group and the Group on Federalism and Elections at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, on 4 July 2026.
