On October 8 2017 the news portal Thewire.in broke a story about the Jay Amit Shah's businesses. The story revealed that the turnover of one of the companies controlled by him, Temple Enterprise had an increase its turnover 16,000 times, amongst other things. Jay Shah has filed a 100 crore defamation lawsuit against The Wire. A Cabinet Ministers has held press conferences in his defence. The ASG Tushar Mehta has been granted time off to fight this case on Jay Shah's behalf. Is the reaction to the story getting disproportionate?
